I love doing hostel hoping when I am traveling. It is indeed very troublesome to keep moving, but the excitement of experiencing different hostel culture and meeting new friends makes me busy moving every time.
I stayed in 3 different hostels during my Korea trip, and this is my favourite out of all! (With special discount on the Hanbok experience!)
Korea Hostel 11th, Changdeokgung
Upon Check-in, the hostel first floor is facilitated with a huge and cozy open area, where wifi, couch, tables and chairs, and drinking water are available.
Whereas the second floor and above are the dormitory and rooms.
For solo travellers, I highly recommend you all to get a dorm bed from this hostel, as I really love to have some privacy even when I am traveling solo and budget, this offered me pretty much what I needed.
Other than privacy, the bathroom is attached in the dormitory, which we don’t have to walk out from the dorm to get to the bathroom.
If you’re traveling in pair or group, there are also Ondol room (Traditional Korean room), twin room and triple room available in Korea Hostel.
Another thing which caught my eyes to stay in this hostel was their Sky Garden on 5th floor! What a nice place to chit chat and drink with friends! I have to say that the night view is nothing spectacular, but hanging out and chilling here with friends will definitely soothes the tiredness from traveling.
Breakfast is also included during the stay. Most of the hostels will only prepare toast, cereal, jam, and milk or juice. Here, they offer cereal, coco-crunch, toast, korean bun, tomato, ham, cheese, egg, jam, butter, juice, coffee, tea and milk. Which literally made my day AWESOME. (Breakfast matters!)
It was a pleasant stay in Korea Hostel 11th. Anyway, there were still a few things that caught my attention, also as in throughout my Korea hostel hopping.
- No towel was provided. towel is on rental (1000 won) – Most of the hostels provided only a small face towel.
- Borrow an adaptor from the front desk. (It is free to borrow with a deposit of 5000 won)
- Shower kit on rental. Normally hostels do provide public shower kit.
MY HANBOK EXPERIENCE
Attention!! There’s a Hanbok rental shop on the first floor of the hostel.
For your information, whoever stays in HK 11th, get half price on the Hanbok rental.
Which 1 hour and 30 minutes rental of a Character Hanbok, with underskirt, matching handbag and hairdressing costs only 10,000 won (RM36+-) instead of 20,000 won (RM70+-)!
The palace, Changdeokgung is only 3 minutes walking distance away from the Hostel, and when we are wearing a Hanbok, we get FREE ENTRANCE to the palace.
WHAT A SWEET DEAL.
Now let’s have a look on some of my shots of me wearing a hanbok in the Changdeok palace!
And the cute version. (I didn’t go for pink color because I thought I couldn’t handle “cute” anymore. LOL)
I really had fun shooting in the Hanbok and I love how the young lady boss picked the suitable pieces for me according to my preference color and style! Do you like my Hanbok outfit too?
Alright, if you would love to stay in Korea Hostel Chang Deok Gung and get such a good deal as well, check out their facebook page here ♥ https://www.facebook.com/HostelkoreaCDG/
